Alverno College Archives

 

On this day the sculpture, Mary, Queen of the Universe, which was created by Sister Helena Steffensmeier and

currently overlooks the Commons patio, was dedicated in a small ceremony.

 


It took her many hours to sculpt as detailed in this article from

the September, 1957 issue of Alverno Campus News.
